Self Initiation

Bringing what we see is missing

After establishing these core fundamentals, when we open the doors we can self initiate. We can then feel confident that when we see something we believe to be missing, we can bring it.

"Yes I can help you with moving homes, but I won't be able to meet you before 10.30am because I have commitments I have to honour prior to that time."

We can then be sure that we are not taking on more than we can carry. Which often in community and co-existing environments can be a struggle, leading towards build-up of resentment. Some people have a habit of overextending and ignoring their own needs and then they suffer.

Every community requires everyone to be a leader, and to self initiate. A community can’t rest or be dependent on one or two people to lead the way. It requires a tribe to steer the way. Self initiating is key to create movement and fluidity in a community. When there is a lack of self initiation it is felt, and naturally tensions arise.

We need everyone to take responsibility for their part and to give what they can (without overextending). This is why it is so important to fill one’s own cup previously so that there is a reservoir in which to share with other.
